The Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers Scholarship

In supporting both Atrium staff and furthering education, Atrium has supported The Worshipful Company of Painter Stainers scholarship scheme.

painters-logo.pngThe Painters’ Company Scholarship Scheme was established in 2012 to support undergraduates every year at London Art Colleges. Each student receives £5,000 annually from the beginning of their second year until they complete their studies (usually three years), and they are known as a “Painters’ Company Scholar”.

The students are selected entirely on merit and this is the most meritocratically awarded scholarship for art students in London today. The establishment of the scheme was in recognition of the increasing personal financial burden placed on students and a wish to ensure that gifted students were supported in their artistic pursuit.

An Atrium employee helped establish the scheme and in order to help launch the scheme Atrium contributed to support a student through their scholarship years.

The Lloyd’s Patriotic Fund

Lloyd’s Patriotic Fund logoFounded in 1803 to assist the many casualties of the Napoleonic Wars, the Lloyd’s Patriotic Fund is one of the oldest military charities of its kind and has been providing support to the armed forces community on behalf of the Lloyd’s market for over two hundred years.

Lloyd’s Patriotic Fund provides support to a number of organisations with a particular focus on those who are disabled or face poverty, illness and hardship.

In 2014 Atrium became a Friend of the Lloyd’s Patriotic Fund along with eight other Lloyd’s affiliated firms.

At a recent gathering we heard from recipients of grants. An impressive career soldier narrated his story, losing his sight not through accident or combat, but a medical illness. The support of his colleagues and Commanding Officer was important ….. but the army marches on. He was the recipient of specialist help from Blind Veterans UK who enable ex-Service men and women to discover a life beyond sight loss, which has been supported by the Lloyd’s Patriotic Fund.

Dreamflight logo with text 1301x1000px.jpgDreamflight is a UK charity that changes young lives though taking children with a serious illness or disability, without their parents, on the holiday of a lifetime to Orlando, Florida.

Established in 1987 and operating annually since, Dreamflight believes that fun and joy are just as important as medical research and equipment - especially for children who perhaps can’t wait long enough for the breakthrough they need or whose illnesses and treatments have brought pain, distress and disruption to their lives.
