Atrium appoints Chris Baker as Head of Specialty Reinsurance

(22.07.26) Atrium, the leading specialty insurer at Lloyd’s, today announces the appointment of Chris Baker as Head of Specialty Reinsurance.  Chris will develop Atrium’s specialty reinsurance portfolio, in line with its 5-year transformation strategy.

Chris has 22 years of market experience and is a well-respected London market figure, known for his deep technical knowledge, innovative mindset and customer-centric approach to underwriting treaty reinsurance.  He will join Atrium from Chaucer, where he serves as Head of Global Reinsurance, responsible for almost $2 billion of premium.

Chris will join Atrium in July 2027, once he has completed any contractual obligations and will underwrite for the 2028 Year of Account.
