Atrium appoints John Pilkington as Chief Capital Officer in support of its 5-year transformation strategy

(13.08.26) Atrium, the leading specialty insurer at Lloyd’s, today announces the appointment of John Pilkington as Chief Capital Officer.   The newly created role will be pivotal in shaping Atrium’s capital strategy to support the delivery of its 5-year transformation agenda.

John’s responsibilities include sourcing external capital and managing the structuring of complex capital solutions to facilitate the long-term growth and success of the business.

John is a London Market veteran with 38 years of experience.  He joins Atrium from Ascot, where he served as Executive Underwriter, Syndicate 1414. Prior to this, he worked as Active Underwriter, at Barbican Syndicate 1955  (now Arch) as well as QBE.

As Atrium advances its ambitious five-year strategy, the business has already attracted significant underwriting capital for Syndicate 2026, which launched at 1/1. With plans to broaden its portfolio through new lines of business, John will be instrumental in driving Atrium’s capital strategy, ensuring the business is well positioned to support sustainable growth.
